Bid Farewell to Summer with Summer Sunset Concert

SUNBURY, PA — August 31, 2026 — Sunbury’s Revitalization Inc. invites the community to celebrate the end of summer with an evening of live music, food, and riverfront views at the Summer Sunset Concert on Saturday, September 19th, at Merle Phillips Riverfront Park.

The free concert will take place along the Susquehanna River, with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. and live music beginning at 6:00 p.m. The evening will feature HAIRPOCALYPSE – The Ultimate ’80s Arena Rock Tribute Concert, bringing some of the biggest rock anthems of the decade to the Sunbury riverfront.

HAIRPOCALYPSE will feature Poison Nation, Jay Bon Jovi, and Red White & Crue, giving concertgoers an opportunity to sing along to favorite ’80s hits while enjoying the sunset over the Susquehanna River.

In addition to the concert, attendees can enjoy a Chicken BBQ dinner for $15. BBQ dinners must be pre-ordered in advance.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and make an evening of it with family and friends.

The event will be held rain or shine, with the exception of cancellation due to severe weather. If the concert is canceled because of severe weather, pre-ordered Chicken BBQ dinners will still be available for pickup at the Albright Center for the Arts, 450 Chestnut Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.

The Summer Sunset Concert will be held Saturday, September 19, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Merle Phillips Riverfront Park, 101 S. Front St., Sunbury, PA 17801. Concert admission is free, while Chicken BBQ dinners are $15 with advance pre-order.
