Community Events and Engagement Coordinator

Sunbury's Revitalization, Inc is seeking a CORE Susquehanna Americorps Member to join our team as the community events and engagement coordinator. 

Sunbury's Revitalization Inc. (SRI) is dedicated to strengthening the economic vitality, appearance, and sense of community within downtown Sunbury. Through community engagement, events, beautification efforts, and collaborative partnerships, SRI works to create a vibrant downtown that benefits residents, visitors, and local organizations.

The Community Events & Engagement Coordinator will strengthen the capacity of Sunbury's Revitalization Inc. by supporting the planning, coordination, promotion, and evaluation of community events that encourage civic engagement, community pride, volunteer involvement, and downtown revitalization. The member will assist with organizing festivals, performances, block parties, and community events that enhance community vitality and encourage public participation. The member will also support outreach efforts, volunteer engagement, and event sustainability activities. SRI programs operate independently of AmeriCorps support; the member enhances existing services and organizational capacity and does not replace staff functions.

Through this service experience, the AmeriCorps member may have the opportunity to develop skills and experience in areas such as: • Event planning and logistics coordination • Community engagement and volunteer management • Public relations and marketing • Social media and communications • Partnership development
